Annual Yankees Benefit
Each year, Sacred Heart and Advisory Board members host a fundraiser in an effort to generate funding for the school. The Yankees Benefit has always been a special time for Board members and their guests to visit the school, meet students and learn more about our mission of providing quality education in the Southwest Bronx.
The benefit, which features a barbecue and a Yankees game, has grown larger every year thanks to the efforts of our Advisory Board. Select Sacred Heart students receive tickets sponsored by guests or those who cannot attend but still wished to contribute to the school.
The 2012 Yankees Benefit raised over $10,000 which was used to create a tutoring program for 6th graders. The Saturday morning program provides supplemental Math and English Language Arts lessons to help students prepare for New York State Testing. Since its launch in September of 2012, the program has been such a success to 6th graders that it will be continued for years to come.
