Class of 2015 Graduation

The graduating 8th graders prepare to enter the ceremony in Sacred Heart Church.

July 17, 2015

The end of the year is always bittersweet as we celebrate the accomplishments of our departing eighth graders before sending them off to the next chapter of their lives. On June 12th, our 55 eighth graders came together one last time at their graduation ceremony.

Whether students had been at Sacred Heart since Pre-K or had come in only a year or two ago, all knew that they belonged to the Sacred Heart family and would always be welcome. Valedictorian, Rachel A., and salutatorian, Christine L., spoke about how close the graduating class became over the years. They know this next stage in their lives will be difficult, but that Sacred Heart has given them the tools to succeed.

This class of eighth graders has bright futures ahead of them.  In the fall, students will attend high schools including

  • Cardinal Hayes
  • St. Jean Baptiste
  • Cathedral
  • Cardinal Spellman
  • Mt. St. Michael

Eleven students were awarded Student Sponsor Partner Scholarships to Catholic Schools, and many students will be receiving other kinds of scholarship support.

We are proud of these young men and women and look forward to hearing about their successes for years to come.

Michael P. and Genesis R. are awarded the FDNY Anchor Club Mahoney Family Scholarship Award.
