10th Annual Yankees Benefit

Sacred Heart students and board members, Ted Burdick and Bob Flanigan.

July 17, 2015

On Tuesday, June 9th, Sacred Heart welcomed supporters to campus for the tenth annual Yankees Benefit. The event was our most successful yet, raising over $16,000 to go towards after-school tutoring for struggling students at Sacred Heart.

Before the game, guests met in the courtyard of the Sacred Heart rectory for an old fashioned cookout.

There were many new faces this year, as several of our guests from past benefits returned with friends in tow. We were excited to introduce them to the Sacred Heart community. Before the group of students and supporters walked down to Yankee Stadium they were treated to a rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" by Sacred Heart middle school students, which set the tone for the night.

It was a perfect evening for baseball as the group watched the Yankees defeat the Washington Nationals. This was the first Yankees game for many of our students, and it was made even more memorable by the generosity of donors, including Benji Cheung and Jim Hughes, who kept the snacks coming for students through the night.

Thank you to Ted Burdick and the Sacred Heart Board for another wonderful benefit and fun night!

Sacred Heart students enjoy watching the Yankees v. Washington Nationals game.
